The cylinder head sits on top of the engine block and seals off your cylinders. It is important that the cylinder head seals properly so that oxygen and fuel cannot escape. If a part breaks, you want to replace it as soon as possible to prevent engine damage. To do this, you often have to replace more than just the broken part. For example, cylinder head bolts usually need to be replaced because they are stretch bolts. Stretch bolts lose their slack after installation and therefore no longer have enough tension when you install them a second time. When you are replacing (parts of) your cylinder head, it is advisable to replace the cylinder head gasket, too.

The cylinder liner and cylinder head gasket are rubber parts that ensure that all the parts of the cylinder head fit together airtight. These rubber parts are susceptible to wear and are responsible for most problems with the cylinder head.

Damage to the valves is often a result of contact with the pistons after a damaged or broken belt. Usually, the cylinder head is then provided with new gaskets and new valves. To completely overhaul the cylinder head, you can also purchase a complete cylinder head gasket set. Do you not want to overhaul the cylinder head? Then you can also install a completely new cylinder head. This is recommended if the cylinder head has warped due to overheating.
